Spring
Airsoft Guns

Spring powered airsoft guns differ from the other gas powered and electric powered airsoft guns because they are a single shot or spring cocked devices much like a real shotgun or bolt action rifle. The user has to cock the spring by pulling back the slide or bolt before firing each shot. Though they may not be very suitable for close combat competitions, they are widely used for "sniper" and "marksman" functions.
The spring airsoft gun is ideal for beginners because it’s cheap, durable and widely available, and because it is easy to use, almost every airsoft gun enthusiast has started out with a Spring airsoft gun.
The MP5 SD3 is the most popular spring rifle, well known for its CQB (Close Quarters Battle) applications and mainly used by tactical groups. It features a metal retractable stock and mock silencer, and the scale magazine can hold 20 rounds. The Hop-Up model has increased range and accuracy for skirmishing. The model is mainly constructed of ABS plastic, with some internal metal components. It weighs 2.89 Pounds and shoots several hundred feet at a rate of 270 feet per second.
As for spring handguns, the M9 seems to be the most widely used and has a 22 Round Magazine, opening ejection port, functional trigger & amp and hammer. The model is mainly constructed of ABS plastic like the MP5 SD3, with some internal metal components. Optional all metal mock screws on silencers are available. The M9 weighs 1.25 lbs -- has a muzzle velocity of 275 FPS, and is effective up to 90 Feet. The model comes in single, two-tone and silver color.

Airsoft gun vocabolary
Airsoft Gun Definition. Airsoft guns use a power and a bullet that is not so great that it cannot hurt seriously any part of the human body, except perhaps the eyes. The bullets are usually small spherical plastic pellets of either 6 mm or 8 mm diameter (0.24 or 0.32 inches)., Airsoft guns can be based on several energy sources and driving principles and are classified according to the driving force and action mechanism. There are electric powered airsoft guns or AEGs, gas powered airsoft guns and spring powered airsoft guns.
Airsoft Replicas. These are airsoft guns with an exterior design as a copy of some real world gun. Some of them also have a manner of operation that is analogical to the real world gun. Most, but not all, actual airsoft guns are airsoft replicas.
Automatic Electric Pistols (AEP). These are small hand-held AEGs with a fully authomatic firing operation.
Automatic Electric Guns (AEG). The shooting mechanism energy from a battery that has been charged through a battery charger. The battery drives an elctric motor. The rotating action of the motor is transformed to foreward actiont of a piston through a series of gears. The piston throws the bullet out. During each cycle a new bullet is set in place to be shot out. Many of these guns are so designed that a series of bullets can be shot out as long as the trigger is in, and thus operates as a mashine gun.
Batteries for AEG Airsoft Guns. AEG airsoft guns usually apply nickel cadmium (NiCad) or nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. The most commonly used battery gives 8.4 V with a storage capacity for 2400 mA•h. Also available are 8.4 V "mini" batteries, which works for 600 mA•h. Voltages for large batteries range from 7.2 V up to 12 V. Usually the higher the storage capcity in mA•h, the longer the battery can operate between each refill, and the higher the voltage, the faster and harder can the battery fire the bullets.
Classic Guns. Classic are usually gas powered airsoft guns of som older construction. Unlike the gas pistols of today, they can run on either an internal tank using conventional airsoft gas or use an external CO2 tank much like a paintball gun. While these guns can become more powerful than AEG's, almost all users operate them at sub-AEG power.
Gas Airsoft Guns: These are based on standard AEG functions, but have some extra features to make the firing more realistic. The plastic bullets are places in a hollow casing, and the casing have a small red spot in one end containing some xplosive. When the gun is fired, the bullet is ejected by pushing the casing quickly foreward. At the same time the explosive will explode and make a realistic sound. By the back rotation of the ejection mechaniosm, the casing is thrown out and another casing with a bullet is set in place to be fired.
Hybrid Airsoft Gun: Here pressurized gas from a cylinder is released .The gas presses on a piston that again shoots the bullet out. The gun is loaded by changing the gas cylinder.
Low powered electric Guns: These are cheap electric airsoft guns with a lower shooting power and bullet velicity than the AEGs due to a more simple mechanism.
Mini electric Guns: These are small airsoft guns that are not replica of real weapons. They operate only automatically. They have a small ammunition capasity and a low range, but they work well on small ranges.
Pellets: These are the bullets used in airsoft guns. They are made of plastic and are spherical. They are of a diameter of either 6 mm or 8 mm (0.24 or 0.32 inches).
Sights: There are optical sights available for airsoft rifles. They may be red dot sights for short range and telescopic sights for longer range. The quality of sights range from simpler replicas of real life sights to actual professional sights that can also be used on airsoft guns.
Spring Airsoft Guns:
In this type, a compressed spring is released. The spring moves a piston that
again ejects the bullet. Before shooting, the spring must be cocked back,
usually by means of a slide at the top of the gun.
